Discord - Shotgrid Bot

I made a bot prototype for my capstone film! The DIscord Shotgrid COmmunicator (aka DISCO) is a webhook bot used to keep our communication channels synced!

My senior capstone team uses Discord as our primary communication channel and Shotgrid to manage and organize production. Shotgrid will send emails to notify teammates of updates, but they frequently get missed. I thought it would be nice to send those Shotgrid updates to where we actually communicate about the film!

I used Zapier to build the prototype, and I plan to self-host it using n8n. The Zapier/n8n server contains a database of all team members, their discord usernames, and an array of their current shotgrid tasks. That database is updated as tasks are assigned/removed, and then referenced when determining who to ping in the alert message.
